About

Her Story

The story behind the sound.

Music has always been a part of country singer-songwriter Audrey Ray’s life. From the time she was a little girl, she was destined for the stage.

Audrey began experimenting with music through her church choir, and began singing and putting on her own concerts by the time she was in middle school. Thanks to her father, he taught her three chords and Audrey taught herself the rest. After learning how to play the piano and guitar, shortly later she began developing her voice.

She grew up listening to a variety of country music, ranging from Hank Williams, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn, to the Dixie Chicks, Jewel and Patty Griffin. Today, some of her musical influences include Miranda Lambert and Ashley McBryde.

Audrey released her first single, “Reckless” in 2012, and received her first radio play later that year. The song was co-written by Audrey and producer Shane D. Grush. Some of her other original songs include “Hell to Pay” and “Back Road Memories.” Her first official music video, for “Back Road Memories”, was released in 2015.

Audrey describes her musical style as “original country sound and twang with an added touch of today’s country style”, saying, “With life experiences, heartbreak, love and loss, I have definitely evolved as an artist since I released my first single.”

At just 29 years old, Audrey is quickly becoming a household name. She has performed numerous concerts throughout her hometown state of Michigan, and has even made a name for herself performing outside of Michigan as well, sharing the stage with national touring artists such as Uncle Kracker and Kelsea Ballerini.

Audrey has graced the stage at 99.5 WYCD’s Downtown Hoedown, AquaPalooza on Lake St. Clair, The Legendary Machine Shop in Flint, and many others.
